Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations (and various other governmental bodies) where participants play the part of representatives meeting in structured committees. While it is an academic activity that requires research and knowledge in world history, economic theory, and political theory, skills like public speaking and negotiation are key.

Every committee in the GA (General Assembly) debates different issues that effect international relations. Every delegate represents their country’s view on the issue. The goal of the UN is to come up with an effective resolution to the issue that passes a majority vote . The best performing delegates are generally awarded at the end of the conference.

Dear Delegates,
It is with great honor and deep pleasure that I invite you to the second annual session of IEEE Nagpur TECH MUN, to be held on March 10th and 11th 2018 in S B Jain Institute of Technology, Management and Research, Nagpur.

Since its first edition, the Secretariat has worked hard to educate young minds about the global issues and making TECH MUN an impacting conference that ameliorates their world view.

The grand success of IEEE Nagpur TECH MUN'17 would've been impossible without the enthusiastic participation of Delegates from throughout the city. Thanks to all those who represented the respective countries last year. We look forward to seeing you again this summer.

This year we will be hosting 3 committees. As in fundamental ways, the world has gone in reverse. Conflicts have deepened and new dangers have emerged along with the emerging technology. To me the conference embodies my spirit that we need to be more courageous than ever to meet the dangers and set the world on track towards a better society.

Once again, thank you for supporting our conference and hope your all are excited for the second edition as every one in the Secretariat is!

Dear Delegates,
It is my honour and privilege to welcome you all to the second IEEE Nagpur TechMUN, organized by the IEEE Nagpur Subsection at S.B.Jain Institute of Technology, Management and Research on 10th and 11th March, 2018.

We all have a different story of our journey along the MUN experience, and it is my hope that through this Conference, we will be able to bring together all these MUN experiences under one umbrella.

I hope this experience leaves you with a more accurate understanding of the workings of the UN. You must always remember that there is power in knowledge, and by empowering yourself with this knowledge, you not only have the privilege, but also the responsibility to share this knowledge with those who are less fortunate. Never underestimate the power of the youth voice in effecting positive change around the world. So let's take this opportunity to make very important steps in acting together to strengthen the voice of the youth on the world stage.
